Crechely.ie was born out of 14 months of frustration, phone calls, and waiting.
The story
In 2024, like thousands of Irish parents, I found myself searching for a childcare place for my daughter in Dublin. What followed was 14 months of phone calls, voicemails, and waiting — calling over 20 providers, hearing nothing back from half of them, and watching my daughter's start date approach with no place secured.
I discovered that there was no central place to search, no way to join multiple waiting lists at once, and no system to alert parents when a spot opened up. The official advice was to phone your county council.
So I built Crechely.ie — a platform that solves this from both sides. Parents can search every Tusla-verified childcare provider in Ireland, join multiple waiting lists in one place, and get an instant alert the moment a spot opens that matches their child. Creches get a digital waiting list that manages itself, fills spots faster, and eliminates the endless phone calls.
This is not a big tech company. It is one Dublin parent who got frustrated enough to do something about it.
